(Kelowna, BC) – Over 200 competitive masters swimmers from across Canada and a team from the United States will be coming to Kelowna this weekend for the 2014 MSABC Provincial Swim Championships presented by Team Aquatic Supplies and ARENA. Hosted by the Okanagan Masters Swim Club (OMSC), the event is being held at H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre from Friday afternoon to Sunday midday.

OMSC President Brent Hobbs said, “There are more than 210 participating Masters swimmers ranging in age from 18 to 95! Over 35 teams are representing the provinces of BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, and the state of Oregon. In addition, there are over 110 volunteers on hand to support and encourage these amazing athletes to achieve their best. Over the next few days, athletes will swim for fun, fitness and friendship.”

“We are also certain that a number of Provincial and Canadian records will be broken as H2O is known to be a fast pool!”

Volunteers and sponsors are still needed. Some volunteer shifts are as little as 2 hours and each volunteer will receive a T-Shirt, food and drink during their shift as well as an invitation to a special Volunteer Appreciation Party hosted by Tree Brewing.
